Fashion, Creativity & Skills for Community Progression
Alton Fashion Futures CIC believes pattern cutting is more than a technical skill. It is an artistic language through which ideas are imagined, explored and realised. Through community-based creative programmes, we combine fashion, design research and pattern-making to help young people develop their own creative voice while widening access to contemporary artistic practice.
Our free community programmes are designed for young people and adults aged 16–45, particularly those who may face barriers to education, training, employment or participation in creative opportunities.
We deliver structured, hands-on programmes in fashion design, pattern-making, garment construction, fashion illustration and textiles. Participants learn through researching, designing, making and developing their own creative work, with practical guidance and individual support throughout.
Our programmes are skills and progression-focused, rather than recreational craft or leisure classes. We aim to help participants develop technical and transferable skills, build confidence, experience achievement and explore pathways into further learning, work experience, volunteering and employment.
Working with community organisations, education partners and creative spaces across Enfield, we create accessible opportunities that respond to local needs and contribute to positive community impact.

PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY
Our free CIC programmes are currently designed for people aged 16–45.
These programmes are focused on creative skills development, confidence-building and progression, rather than recreational or leisure activities.
